CITY OF GLOUCESTER
Gloucester is America's oldest seaport, and evidence of its unique history can be found throughout the City.  From the storied Man at the Wheel statue that pays tribute to the thousands of Gloucester fishermen who went out to sea and never came home to the working fishing boats in the harbor today, Gloucester is known throughout the world as an authentic, working waterfront community.

Gloucester Archives is the repository of the town and city municipal records. The department contains one of the most complete collections of municipal records in the U.S., beginning before the town’s 1642 incorporation.
